***Update: Sodaro has withdrawn from the PTO U.S. Open in Milwaukee.
Reigning Ironman World Champion Chelsea Sodaro came onto the long-course scene last year as a bit of an underdog, but a decisive win from the newly minted mom in Kona placed her squarely into the spotlight. As a result, Sodaro found herself with newfound attention and sponsors, like Canyon, who welcomed her to the team in February. The result of that relationship is a very cool, very custom Speedmax CFR with lots of personalized details and speedy bits and pieces.
Photographed at the European Open in Ibiza, Sodaro will be using this same setup to race in Milwaukee at the U.S. Open this weekend.
Sodaro is part of a stellar lineup of triathlon stars racing The PTO U.S. Open this weekend – check out our preview of the men’s and women’s pro races here.
At this year’s PTO U.S. Open, Sodaro will be riding a size small Canyon Speedmax CFR.
Sodaro will be racing with a 54/40 chainring and 165mm cranks on her Dura-Ace R9100-P power meter crankset.
Sodaro has a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 12-speed setup and a custom Ceramic Speed OSPW Pulley System with a custom paint job of Sodaro and her daughter, Skye. She’s also riding a custom, gold-sparkle-painted Speedmax frame.

Sodaro says she’s added custom touches to the already aero Canyon front end with deep arm rest cups, adjustable hand holds, and Ergon grips and pads all around. Not pictured is the Wahoo ELMNT Bolt cycling computer she’ll use for data.
Inspired by her family’s response to Skye’s “no” phase, Sodaro has added the affirmation “yes yes yes” to her top tube.
Sodaro will be running an ISM PN 3.0 saddle with additional hydration storage behind the seat.
For aero-at-all-costs, Sodaro has chosen to go with a DT Swiss ARC 1100 DICUT DB 80mm wheel up front and an ARC 1100 DICUT DISC in the rear with Continental GP 5000 tires.
